Pastor Clay Wyatt

Clay Wyatt – Pastor

Clay is a native of Albany, Georgia. He holds degrees from the University of Mobile, Beeson Seminary, and is pursuing his Doctorate in Ministry at New Orleans Theological Baptist Seminary. He married his beautiful wife, Bailey, in 2021.

Clay was the pastor to students and volunteers at Dayspring Baptist in Mobile from 2020-2025. At the end of his time at Dayspring, he sensed God’s call to plant a church in Orange Beach. The Wyatts moved here full-time in November of 2025 to start Palms Community Church.

In his spare time, Clay love to cheer on all Georgia sports teams. At the moment, he’s only proud of the Bulldogs. He also enjoys playing basketball reading, and fishing. He looks forward to bulding deep relationships with the people of Orange Beach and doing life together with them.

Our Theology

The following statements are a summary of our theological beliefs as a church family.

God the Father

God the Father, the creator of the Universe who is sovereign over the affairs of all that has been created. He is love, and therefore has the great desire to be in a peaceful relationship with mankind. Our proper response to Him is one of submission, gratitude, and praise.

Jesus the Son

Jesus the Son, with God before the foundation of the world, came to earth through a virgin birth taking on human form for the purpose of redeeming mankind from sin. His sin-free life and death on a cross provided the way of redemption for fallen humanity. His bodily resurrection provided the authority for Him to offer eternal life to all who would believe. He has now ascended back to heaven, where he prepares a place for those who belong to him. One day He will return to usher in the end of the world, where he will judge all humanity as to their faith in Him.

The Holy Spirit

God the Holy Spirit, with God before the foundation of the world, is given to each believer as a guarantee of their salvation. His work in our lives is to conform us into the likeness of Jesus Christ and to reveal the truths of Scripture. The Holy Spirit indwells those who believe in Jesus, giving them direction, joy, gifting, discernment, and the ability to walk as Jesus did.

Salvation

We believe salvation from sin is the great need of every person. God offers salvation as a gift of grace to all who place their faith in Jesus Christ as the source of their salvation.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the revealed word of God. It serves as our only source of absolute truth. It is infallible in its content, trustworthy in its teaching, and perfect in its application.

The Church

We believe in the Church as the representation of Jesus to our world. With Christ as the head, believers are brought into the Church as parts of a spiritual body, each with a specific function and role to benefit the church. The purpose of our church is to provide every man, woman, and child with repeated access to the Gospel. The greater body of Christ is represented all across the globe through local churches. God calls pastors to lead His church, to equip the members for their roles in fulfilling the above purposes, and to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Believer

We believe in the priesthood of the believer. With the Holy Spirit’s indwelling and the restoration of our relationship with God, each believer is capable of communication with God on his/her own.

Eternity

We believe upon conception all humans are given eternal souls and deserve an opportunity to live. If a person places his/her faith in Jesus, then his/her eternal destiny is in a literal heaven. If a person does not place his/her faith in Jesus, then his/her eternal destiny is in a literal hell. Because God is a God of grace, his desire is that every man, woman, and child would embrace his offer of salvation.

Our Values

1. Biblical Faithfulness

We believe that the Bible is God’s breathed out, inerrant Word. As a result, we seek to teach the Word with courage, conviction, and clarity. Thereafter, we seek to obey all of Christ’s commands, knowing they are for our good.

2. Radical Hospitality

Churches weren’t created to be programs. That’s why we open our hearts and homes to one another. We cultivate an environment where you can know others and be known, yourself.

3. Sacrificial Service

Every Christian has a calling, and every member has a ministry. We seek to serve the local body of Christ and those within the city, even when it costs us.

4. Missional Outreach

We remind ourselves that every person has an eternal destination—one in the presence of God and one cut off from Him forever. That drives us to love our neighbor and make every attempt to share the story of Jesus with them.

Plan a Visit

Sunday services at Palms last around an hour. Our church family sings together, prays together, and hears a sermon from the Bible, taught by our pastor. Come as you are and experience authentic connection with our people.

Service time and location:
10:00 AM at Oso at Bear Point Harbor
5749 Bay La Launch Ave, Orange Beach, AL 36561

Come as you are, whether that’s casual or in a button-down. Our hope is that you experience authentic connection and hear the truth of the gospel of Jesus.

Oso has a gravel parking lot right across the street. Pull up, walk over, and we’ll be ready to greet you!

We are close to having a kids ministry ready, but we are still working on it! At this time, we invite you to worship as a family and know that Palms Kids will be coming soon!

We do not offer groups on site. We will soon be launching home groups around the city that will meet on different nights of the week. These groups will focus on strengthening relationships and growing in discipleship.

Giving

At Palms Community Church, every dollar given is a dollar that is stewarded for the advancement of God’s Kingdom. Your gift fuels our mission to help others discover the story of Jesus and live as missionaries for the glory of God. We desire to be a church characterized by generosity, therefore, 10% of all giving goes directly out the door to support local and global missions.
